I believe that the Bible, the Holy Scriptures, is the inspired Word of God: inerrant, immutable, steadfast, and unchangeable. While men wrote the sixty six books contained in the Bible, their writings came about through God’s inspiration and guidance by the Holy Spirit. Their original documented words are the everlasting truths that God wants us to know. (2 Timothy 3:15-17; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Peter 1:20-21)I believe that God is triune: Father, Son and Holy Spirit; the Three are co-existent, co-eternal, and co-equal in divine perfection. (Genesis 1:1,26,27; 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; II Corinthians 13:14; I Peter 1:2; I John 5:7) I believe that Jesus Christ is God’s son both human and divine. I believe in His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His substitutionary work on the cross, His bodily resurrection from the dead, and His exaltation to the right hand of God. (Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:31: Luke 1:35; Hebrews 7:26; 1 Peter 2:22; Acts 2:22; Acts 10:38; 1 Corinthians 15:3; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Matthew 28:6, Luke 24:39; 1 Corinthians 15:4; Acts 1:9; Acts 1:11; Acts 2:33; Philippians 2:9-11, Hebrews 1:3) I believe that man, created in the image of God, by voluntary disobedience fell and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death, which is separation from God. Because of sin’s nature the penalties thereof were placed on all mankind. Sin’s consequences disqualified man from God’s intent of eternal unity between Himself and mankind. (Genesis 1:26-27; Genesis 2:17; Genesis 3:6, Romans 5:12-19) I believe that because of the Fall of Man, God’s righteousness dictated a severance in His relationship with mankind. However, while we were yet sinners Jesus Christ died for us, took our place, and with His life’s blood purchased the pardon for all who believe in Him. (John 3:16; Titus 2:14) I believe that man's only hope of redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ the Son of God. Salvation is wholly through grace; no human righteousness, good works or merit can contribute to our receiving God’s love and favor. Salvation is received through repentance toward God and faith toward the Lord Jesus Christ. By the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, being justified by grace through faith, man becomes an heir of God, according to the hope of eternal life. I believe that, upon sincere repentance and a whole-hearted acceptance of Christ, we are justified before God through Jesus’ sacrificial death the evidence of salvation is both inward and outward.(Ephesians 2:8; Romans 10:6-10; 1 John 1:9 Luke 24:47; John 3:3; Romans 10:13-15; Titus 2:11-12; Titus 3:5-7; Romans 8:16; Ephesians 4:24; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Galatians 2:20)I believe that it is God’s desire that those who have been born again begin a process of spiritual maturity. Each day we strive to be partakers of His holiness. We should daily grow in sanctification, stronger in the faith, power, prayer, love, and service to God and our fellow man. (2 Corinthians 7:1; Matthew 25:35-45)I believe being baptized in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is an essential response to Jesus’ command, testifying to His lordship as Christ and King. It is an outward sign of the inward change that has taken place in our life. (Matthew 28:19; Acts 10:47-48; Romans 6:4) I believe in observing Communion, (the Lord’s Supper, the Holy Eucharist), receiving the broken bread and the fruit of the vine with joy and faith as we partake anew of the life and triumph of Christ’s Cross and His imminent return. (1 Corinthians 11:24-26)I believe that it is the will of God that believers walk in the Spirit moment by moment, serving the Lord and living lives of patience, love, truth, sincerity, and prayer. (Ephesians 4:30-32; Galatians 5:16, 25)
